The Somerset County Clerk’s Office is currently dealing with a cybersecurity breach from May 24, 2022. The county’s computer systems are offline for the time being. This means that no documents after 1977 can be searched either online or in-person at the Clerk’s office.
This also means that documents CAN NOT be recorded either online or in person. The Surrogate’s Office is similarly affected. Consequently, no real estate transactions can be handled within Somerset County until further notice. We are closely monitoring the situation and are in contact with both our underwriters as well as the Clerk’s office. We will provide an update as soon as the situation is resolved.
